Responsible Gaming

This page sets out practical advice on gambling sensibly and states plainly what this site can and cannot do to help someone control their gambling. It applies to every page on this build, including the operator listings.

Before You Start

These habits work because they are decided before money is involved, not adjusted afterwards under pressure.

  • Decide the amount first. Set a figure before you begin, based on what you can afford to lose, not on what you hope to win back.
  • Treat it as spent. Once the amount is committed, think of it as gone already. Any return is a bonus, not money you were relying on.
  • Never chase a loss. Increasing a stake to recover an earlier loss usually compounds it. The original loss is not fixed by risking more.
  • Keep it away from borrowed money. Gambling with money you owe elsewhere turns a leisure cost into a debt problem.
  • Take breaks. Stepping away regularly keeps a clear head and stops a session running on momentum alone.
  • Involve someone else early. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment, telling a friend, relative, or one of the organisations listed below at that point is easier than waiting until it becomes a crisis.

What This Site Cannot Do

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods, or self-exclusion are all things a reader sets up inside an account at an operator's own site. This build has no account, no form, and no server-side application behind it, so nothing published here can switch such a control on, check its status, or enforce it. Those tools only exist once you have followed a link away from this site.

In the same way, nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it. Any age check happens at the destination, after an operator link has redirected you there. Each of the ten operator listings on this build ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this build, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing, but repeating it here does not amount to checking it.

There is also no advertising or behavioural profiling network built into these pages, so nothing on this site is targeted at a reader who has shown signs of risky play. Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site: each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that point its rules, checks, and account controls apply, not anything published on this domain.

Independent Help

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: begambleaware.org, gamblingtherapy.org, and gamcare.org.uk. These are named as an independent source of help and nothing further is claimed about what they do.

These three links are the only outbound links on the whole site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them.
